Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Homage to Home”
Several Air Jordan colorways share a certain connection with the city of Chicago. This is of course because Michael Jordan himself spent the peak of his exceptional career with the Windy City NBA team. Of the Air Jordan 1 iterations that refer to the city, the “Bred” and “Chicago” colorways are probably the most popular.
Now Jordan Brand has chosen to unite these two looks on one pair of sneakers. But unlike approaches like the “Top 3”, this time they didn’t go for a clean mix of colors. Instead, the upper of each shoe is split in half to feature the “Bred” on the exterior and the “Chicago” design on the interior sides.
While opinions shared among Air Jordan fans matched the unusual aesthetic, Nike and Jordan Brand also live up to the shoe’s moniker with a special Chi-City edition.
Limited to 2,300 pairs, this special edition Air Jordan 1 “Homage To Home” was available exclusively at Chicago retailers. Next to each numbered pair, the limited iteration also features the letters “FROM” and “FOR” on the heels.
